EYE MATTER
Introduces their
Campaigning for Equality Project
Eye Matter is a group of young people aged between 16 and 25 years who campaign to raise awareness of the issues affecting young people living with serious sight loss. They campaign for equality and challenge the social exclusion brought about by visual impairment.
The Campaigning for Equality project provides young people with the opportunity to avail of training opportunities to allow them to develop transferable skills and enhance confidence and self esteem. Courses offered include OCN Youth Work and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
The project's aim is to encourage members to lobby relevant bodies to take their message forward. The issues they focus on are:
Ø Education
Ø Employment
Ø Access to Information
Ø Independent Living
Ø Transport
Ø Youth Services
